SEND HELP
Send Help is a really fun, thriller romp that I would say is Sam Raimi’s take of Triangle of Sadness. At Fin we got to add some of the key action sequences and I personally got to work on the Plane crash and Bradley’s escape attempt on a makeshift raft.
For the inciting plane crash, I was responsible for building the pre-crash plane exterior. Modelled from a on-set reference scan my task was to build the photoreal private jet for Close and Wide shots. I then passed the model onto Adam Shaw who was responsible for building the interior and damaged version of the jet. It was a very complex sequence and the end result was great to see on the big screen.
For Bradley’s escape attempt I was responsible for modelling a digital version of his makeshift raft that animation and FX’s were able to tear apart throughout the sequence. Made up of debris and bamboo stalks the raft was made of dozens of unique pieces that needed to match the on-set prop exactly. I was very happy with how the raft turned out but the work of the rest of the team to integrate the CG element into a combination of plate ocean and CG ocean was very impressive. They really did such an amazing job to make the sequence work.
